Simon Girling has joined the lecturing team after a long career as a Diagnostic Radiographer in the NHS. After qualification, he quickly specialised in cross-sectional imaging in Computed Tomography and taught this as a clinical expert. More recently, Simon has worked in Nuclear Medicine combining his CT knowledge with isotope imaging in this hybrid modality.
Simon was previously an occasional lecturer on the MSc CT course. He also undertook an MSc in Nuclear Medicine in 2021.
Teaches on the BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography course.
Simon has published articles on ‘A transgender patient in Nuclear Medicine, ‘Red Dot in CT scanning’.
Simon has a particular interest in issue of informed consent and patient experience, and hopes to be able to research these fields soon. He also enjoys teaching anatomy.
Simon is a member of HCPC and Society of Radiographers.
