Lin Homer qualified as a solicitor and spent her working life in the public sector. She was Chief Executive of Suffolk County Council and Birmingham City Council. She then moved into Whitehall where she led the UK Border Agency for 5 years before running The Department for Transport and Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs as Permanent Secretary.
Following her retirement from Executive roles Lin has held a number of Board roles in the Not for Profit and Charitable sectors. These include University of Birmingham where she served two terms as a lay member of the University Council and latterly as Deputy Pro Chancellor. Other local roles have included Harwich Haven Authority and Community Action Suffolk.
Lin is also a Trustee of the Queens Anniversary Trust which awards honors to further and Higher Education institutions.
