Justine Oakes

Justine has been an FM professional for over 20 years, beginning her career as a fast-track graduate with the Ministry of Defence and subsequently running her own environmental and planning consultancy. Her work has supported blue-chip companies, SMEs, and public sector organizations in advancing their environmental goals. Currently, Justine serves as the Head of Strategic Estates Management at the University of Suffolk, where she leads and develops initiatives in projects, sustainability, and large infrastructure capital works.

Justine is focused on strategic estate management, overseeing master planning, space utilisation, decarbonisation deep retrofit and wider estate development. She is dedicated to enhancing the student experience and ensuring exceptional service to the University community while also exploring the relationship between the University estate and its civic engagement. 

With an undergraduate degree in Environmental Analysis and a Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management for Business, Justine is a Chartered Environmentalist and a full member of both the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and the Institute of Environmental Sciences.
